Night of the Necromancer Review

Night of the Necromancer is a choose your own adventure, where surviving the zombie apocalypse is the challenge. You were a student just trying to survive college. Now, as zombies break down your front door, you must ask if you will survive the night. You will need weapons. A vehicle. A group. A plan. You must make all the right decisions to avoid a zombie’s sharp teeth shredding you to bloody bits. Will you rescue your overbearing ex-girlfriend, who broke up with you hours before the zombies arrived? Will you trust the survivors you meet along the way? Will you retreat to the country’s little-used roads and creepy forests? Or fight your way through the city’s streets, buildings, and subways?

Can you end the Necromancer’s zombie reign of terror, or watch helplessly as the world disintegrates into his vision of madness and death?

If you are quick on your feet, you just might live to see another day. One wrong decision, you will end up as zombie food, or worse…a member of the undead

My Review

I have not read a choose your own adventure book since I was a kid. I’ve become slightly obsessed with zombies, so the mix of zombies and choose your own adventure was too much to resist. Night of the Necromancer is pure awesomness. There’s no other word for it. You start at 1 and you get to a point where you need to make a choice, so you pick and see where you end up. Blood, guts and brains being squished along the way. This is not for the reader with a weak stomach lol. One choice may lead to your gruesome death and another may keep you going a bit longer. I apparently have really sucky decision making skills, I’ve been through about 15 arcs now and have died every time, even when I thought for sure I had found the road to survival LOL. At least I hope there’s a thread that leads to survival…

You’re picking life or death for your group of survivors. There’s a tense bf/gf relationship thrown into the mix and then you add in the personalities of the other characters and it gets even more interesting. I am having so much fun with this book. Yes, zombies, blood, guts and gore amuse me lol. Since this isn’t a sit and read front to back kind of book you can pick it up and put it down at your convenience, and have a different story every time. I recommend this for anyone who likes zombie stories and is just looking for an easy fun read.
