Horace the Tortoise Review

Founded in 2008, Tall Tails Publishing House is a small press dedicated to providing entertaining and beautifully illustrated children’s books that inspire young people to explore the world around them. We are located in Oklahoma, and are always ready to support local authors and illustrators.

Horace the tortoise is stuck in a rut.
Every morning he slo-o-owly walks down to the water’s edge, and every afternoon he slo-o-owly walks home. Can a new friend show him any day is a perfect day to learn something new?

Our Review

My 7 year old son has ADHD and Aspergers. It is very difficult sometimes to get him to try anything new and step even a little bit out of his comfort zone. This was the perfect story for him. The story was fun for him to read and the pictures were very cute. He read this book 5 times just the first day we got it. He asks for it every couple days now to read to little brother. He even took it to school to share with his friends. Now when we are trying something or I’m trying to convince him to do something (lol) I tell him to remember Horace. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. The author has definitely hit a home run with this book for my kids 🙂
