No one said survival was easy.
The year is 2060, and the world is a wasteland. Sixteen-year-old Alex Keener has one mission: survive the horrors of the post-apocalyptic Mojave Desert long enough to find a home.
But when he gets mixed up with Wasteland raiders, Alex finds himself running for his life…and the raiders will stop at nothing until they’ve gotten what is theirs.
My Review
The end of the world and apocalypse seem to be a big theme in books and movies lately. We all survived the end of the world in 2012. I’m sure everyone thinks about it though, whether they admit or not. In Apocalypse (The Wasteland Chronicles) the world as the population knows it ends by way of a meteor. The meteor also releases an unknown virus. It starts out only affecting vegetation then moves onto animals and eventually humans over the course of 30 years. Then all hell breaks loose. That’s all the spoilers I’m going to give lol. This book kind of creeped me out because when you stop and think about it, it’s a plausible story. There’s so much unknown about weather and meteors and space. There’s also a lot of unknown when it’s comes to viruses and bacteria. It’s a scary world if you think about it. Apocalypse really brings that to the front of your mind when your reading it. It’s very fast paced and keeps the reader engaged from page one. I felt like some of the characters came and went a bit quick, but it did not necessarily take away from the story. I really enjoyed reading this and I’m very much looking forward to the next installment!
