Describing the genre of my work is always difficult. People alternately lump me into fantasy, science-fiction, occult, post-apocalyptic, and crime drama. The truth is that 98% of my writing is straight fiction. The settings are taken from the real world in the present day. People kill each other with ordinary guns, knives, and grenades. There is a supernatural element, but it’s kept in the background. I also don’t write about ghosts, werewolves, vampires, or other traditional creatures of the night. My concept of the supernatural is not like anything you’ve read before, and that’s what makes it so fresh.
